Eddie Sullivan Dismissed from WCU Football Team

June 19, 2014

Cullowhee, N.C. - Western Carolina redshirt senior quarterback Eddie Sullivan has been dismissed from the Catamount football team effective immediately for a violation of team policies and standards according to an announcement Thursday from head football coach Mark Speir.

"I have dismissed Eddie Sullivan for conduct detrimental to our program," said Speir in a statement. "The timing of this dismissal is very unfortunate for Eddie Sullivan and our football team. But, in the process of creating a winning culture, we are demanding all of our student-athletes meet the high expectations and standards we have for them on and off of the field."

"Since his arrival at Western Carolina University as head football coach, Mark Speir has set high standards for his players, coaches and staff. He is a firm believer in doing the right things the right way. I fully support Coach Speir's decisions to improve our football program," said WCU Director of Athletics, Randy Eaton.
