Cullowhee, N.C. - Western Carolina will make its first-ever trip to College Station, Texas, and to Texas A&M's Kyle Field in 2015 as dates for next year's Catamount football schedule start to take shape.

Texas A&M officially released its nonconference dates for the fall of 2015 last week which includes a Saturday, Nov. 14 meeting with the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) member Catamounts. Scheduled kickoff time will be announced at a later date.

Western Carolina has played seven of the current members of the Southeastern Conference (SEC) in football all-time including Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, South Carolina and Vanderbilt. The 2015 game will be the program's first-ever meeting with Texas A&M on the gridiron with the addition of the Aggies marking the fourth-consecutive season WCU has faced an SEC foe in football - and the eighth meeting against the SEC dating back to 2006.

The Catamounts conclude the 2014 season by visiting Alabama's Bryant-Denny Stadium for the second time in the past three seasons.

Kyle Field on the Texas A&M campus is undergoing a $450 million redevelopment and renovations which are planned to be completed by the start of the 2015 season. Official seating capacity is expected to exceed 102,000 at Kyle Field.

According to available research, the game against Texas A&M will represent WCU's first football game in the "Lone Star State," while also representing the farthest west Catamount football will have traveled, just further than the 1973 meeting with the University of Nebraska-Omaha.

WCU has faced the Texas A&M Aggies just one time previously in intercollegiate athletics competition - a 1988 NCAA baseball south regional tournament game held in Starkville, Miss., an 8-6 defeat.

Western Carolina continues to count down to the start of the 2014 season, which kicks off a Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla., on Saturday, Aug. 30 against the USF Bulls.

Season tickets for all six home games in 2014 are on-sale now through the Catamount Athletic Ticket Office and online at CatamountSports.com. Returning season ticket holders have the first opportunity to renew their same seats for the 2014 season before the entire stadium will be released to the general public. The rapidly approaching season ticket renewal deadline is June 30.

Purchasing season tickets also allows fans to secure tickets before single-game sales begin on August 25.

With Western Carolina University celebrating its 125th anniversary, fans can purchase a reserved adult season ticket for all six home games for just $125 with youth reserved starting at $65.
