Cullowhee, N.C. - A task force conducting an in-depth examination of the Western Carolina University football program will hold its first meetings Tuesday, March 20, to seek input from anyone interested in Catamount football.
Chip Smith, director of athletics, announced the formation of the committee earlier this year to help define priorities and set goals for a successful football program, and to identify a course to achieve that success. The committee will share its overall findings later this year with Smith, who will in turn present the results to Chancellor John Bardo.
The group is chaired by Jim Moore, a retired banking executive who has been closely associated with WCU throughout his life. He is a past chairman of Western's board of trustees and is currently the chairman of the WCU Foundation board of directors.
The task force meetings on March 20 will be held in the Mary Will Mitchell Room, located in Brown Cafeteria on the Western Carolina campus.
