Defensive secondary coach Steve Sisa has been named special teams coordinator by WCU head coach Mark Speir.

Western Carolina second-year head coach Mark Speir has named returning assistant coach Steve Sisa to the position of Special Teams Coordinator entering preparations for the 2013 season. Speir oversaw special team duties a season ago with Sisa among several assisting.
Sisa, who also coaches the Catamount defensive secondary including defensive backs and safeties, joined the WCU coaching staff in mid-February of 2012 after spending two years on staff at the University of North Carolina.
The WCU football team will work through three and a half weeks of early morning "winter gym" for a total of 11 days beginning on Thursday, Feb. 21, before opening five weeks of spring drills on Wednesday, March 13. The team will practice in helmets only the first two days followed by two in helmets and shoulder pads before the first fully-padded practice on Wednesday, March 20. The Catamounts will take off for spring break March 23 through 31.
WCU will hold its annual spring game event on Saturday, April 20 at Whitmire Stadium / Waters Field in Cullowhee.
