Post-Game Notes: Western Carolina 24, Eastern Kentucky 7
Nov. 14, 2009
With the win...
Post-Game Notes: - Senior linebacker Adrian McLeod had five tackles before being injured midway through the second quarter, having to be helped off the field ... McLeod did return on EKU's next possession and pressured the Colonel quarterback in helping with the defensive stop .. McLeod finished with 10 tackles giving him double-digit tackles in nine-straight games - McLeod has reached double figures in all but one game this season, missing double-digits by one with nine in the season-opener at Vanderbilt ... McLeod is now just 19 tackles shy of a WCU single-season record of 145 set by Marcus Bradley in 1997;
- Junior Blake Bostic gave Western Carolina a second quarter lead, booting a 43-yard field goal inside the final minute before intermission ... Bostic improved to 2-of-3 on field goals from 40-to-49 yards away ... The Bostic, N.C., native also connected on a field goal in his third-consecutive game, the longest such streak of his career and the longest for a WCU placekicker since 2005;
- Senior Antoine George came away with his first interception of the season - and seventh of his career - with EKU driving just before the half to help preserve the first half lead for the Catamounts ... Classmates Gene Singletary and Chris Collins applied the pressure and nearly had Colonel quarterback T.J. Pryor sacked before he tossed up a wobbling pass that George snagged out of mid-air; - Western Carolina lead at halftime for just the second time this season ... WCU led at Chattanooga, 13-3, and led over Eastern Kentucky, 10-7; - Quarterback Zack Jaynes opened the game 16-of-20 passing for 197 yards ... the 197 yards passing in the opening two quarters represented the third-most in a whole game this season ... Jaynes finished with a season-high 24 completions on 24-of-34 passing for a 232 yards, the second-best output this season; - Pittman caught two touchdown passes at EKU, matching his single-game career-best which he as now accomplished four times in his three-year career ... Pittman has TD receptions in consecutive games for the first-time since early in the 2008 season and the third-time in his career ... Pittman now has 14 career touchdown catches, one shy of joining a six-way tie for sixth-place on WCU's career TD receptions ledger; - Pittman matched a season-high and career-high with nine catches against Eastern Kentucky; - Tight end Chris Everett caught a touchdown pass for the third-straight game for the Catamounts, giving him three for his career;
