Scrimmage caps eventful Saturday for WCU Athletics

Notes: Transferred to Western Carolina for the fall of 2011 from Mott Community College ... Joined the Catamounts' fall preseason camp midway through the summer of 2012.

2012 (Junior): Did not see game action.

Prior to Western Carolina: Was the starting place kicker all four seasons at Linden HS including two years full time on varsity ... Made 57-of-62 PATs as a senior with two field goals while booming 26 touchbacks ... Named first team All-Metro League as a senior as a kicker, honorable mention at defensive end ... Continues to rank in the Michigan High School record books with 48 made PAT's during the 2009 season -is just one of four from his high school to appear in the record books ... Was an All-Metro selection as a junior ... Attended kicking camps at Michigan State, Notre Dame and with Chris McInally.

Personal: Full name is Philip J. Fiebernitz ... Is the son of Kevin and Mary Fiebernitz ... His uncle, Chuck Fiebernitz, is the sports editor of the Mountaineer newspaper in Haywood County.
