Ty Davis joined Dennis Wagner's staff at Western Carolina in 2008 after spending five seasons at Missouri State as both a student-athlete and coaching intern. While at MSU, was coached by current WCU wide receivers coach, Andy Follett.

Originally from West Plains, Mo., Davis walked onto the University of Missouri football team for the 2002 season. He then transferred to Missouri State as a fullback for the 2003 season before making the transition to defensive student intern for the 2004 and `05 seasons. In addition to assisting with MSU's defense, he was in charge of the game video crew which included taping both game and practices, film breakdowns for the coaching staff and charting plays associated with the film.

Davis is a 2006 graduate of Missouri State where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Studies Education. He then received a graduate assistantship to continue to work with the football team. He earned a Master of Science degree in Social Studies Education in 2009 from MSU.
