2011 (Sophomore): Saw action in all 11 games seeing most of his time on special teams ... Finished with 11 total tackles including five solo stops ... Was named the defensive scout team player of the week prior to the season-opener at Georgia Tech ... Was named the team's special teams player of the week, recording four special teams stops against Mars Hill ... Returned two kickoffs as an up-back, rumbling 12 yards on a short kick against The Citadel ... Underwent off-season shoulder surgery.

2010 (Freshman): Played in all 11 games as a true freshman, seeing time on special teams as well as used as a lead blocker ... As an up-back, returned a squib kickoff 16 yards against Georgia Southern ... Played as a fullback / tight end on offense but converted to defensive linebacker during spring drills.

Prior to Western: A four-year letter-winner who garnered Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Defensive Player of the Year plaudits and All-Western North Carolina honors as a senior ... Was a three-time All-Haywood County selection and was twice named to the All-AAC team ... Recorded 335 career tackles including 15 sacks and three interceptions in three seasons ... On offense, rushed for 10 career touchdowns, adding eight TD receptions ... Earned the team's "Coaches Award" as a sophomore ... Also played baseball as a prep, earning Freshman Player of the Year accolades on varsity in his first season.

Personal: Is the son of Scott and Jill Chambers ... Has two older siblings, Seth and Casey ... His grandfather, James Schandevel, played professional baseball in the Chicago Cubs system as a pitcher from 1956 through 1965.
