Prior to Western: Transferred to Western Carolina from Oklahoma where he redshirted his freshman season in 2007 and saw limited action in 2008 as a red-shirt freshman, providing depth along the defensive line.
High School: Recorded 92 tackles and nine sacks as a senior in Oklahoma's 6A Class at Muskogee HS ... Also recorded 10 tackles for loss, nine forced passes, and three fumble recoveries ... Was named first-team all-state by The Oklahoman and Tulsa World and was the Defensive Lineman of the Year in district 6A-4 ... Was ranked No. 8 in Oklahoma's top 30 recruits in 2007 by Rivals.com, and No. 30 nationally at defensive end by the same website ... Ranked as the 32nd-best DE recruit by Scout.com out of high school in 2007 ... Collected 96 tackles and four sacks as a junior ... Also was a track and field athlete.
