Western Carolina played Chattanooga Saturday afternoon as the Catamounts honored their seniors and the three newest members of the WCU Athletics Hall of Fame.


Catamounts Win Home Opener Over Mars Hill, 52-31

Western Carolina defeated Mars Hill in its home opener, 52-31, at E.J. Whitmire Stadium.

2012 (Redshirt Junior): Played in all 11 games making 10 starts at wide receiver ... Finished the season with 11 catches for 184 yards and a score ... Recorded the team's longest reception of the season, hauling in a 74-yard touchdown catch against nationally-ranked archrival Appalachian State ... Posted a season-best 85 all-purpose yards against the Mountaineers ... Caught his season-high four passes at nationally-ranked Wofford ... Was involved in almost every special team, returning nine punts for 56 yards including a long of 21 yards at Elon ... Credited with one tackle on the season.

2011 (Redshirt Sophomore): Saw action in eight of WCU's 11 games on the season, making seven appearances among the starting lineup at wide receiver ... Missed two games at mid-season against Chattanooga and The Citadel with a high ankle sprain and was also held out of the season-finale against Coastal Carolina ...
