Harouna Mutombo's student-athlete blog:

What's going on, Catamount fans? I'm back checking in with you guys. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and enjoyed all the festivity as much as they could.

As for us Cats, we took a tough loss to Northern Colorado on Friday after Thanksgiving Day. And that night after watching film, we all knew exactly why we were not winning. We weren't playing Catamount basketball with toughness and energy.

After our film session, the players had a get together meeting and everybody just got a chance to talk and speak their mind on how they felt without the coaches there. That helped get some stuff out the way and we all knew we had to regroup and bounce back to play Florida A&M on Saturday.

That's exactly what we did. Everybody came out with great energy and toughness, and we took care of business to win the game. It was good to end of on a positive note - you never want to leave a trip on a loss that could possibly carry-over.

After our game on Saturday, the guys got a chance to enjoy the scenery of South Padre Island for an afternoon. Some guys went touring, others went to the pool and others were going to go snorkeling which should be pretty fun - until we fly out on Sunday afternoon, and then it's back to business to start preparing or the Southern Conference games. This is like the second season... We are ready to take care of conference play and make a statement!

Well that's it from me! I hope everybody enjoyed their holiday break and all the WCU students are ready to close out this hard and until next time!

Go Cats!
