Cullowhee, N.C. -
Western Carolina head basketball coaches Larry Hunter and Kellie Harper will be the featured guest speakers at today's Catamount Coaches' Luncheons beginning at 11:45 am in the Cats' Den, located in Brown Cafeteria on the WCU campus.
The Cats' Den is a leisure space for students and the WCU community which is decorated with Catamount sports memorabilia and photos of past Western legends.
Each week's luncheon will feature a buffet-style lunch beginning at 11:45 am and will last until approximately 1:00 pm. Head coaches from WCU's athletic programs will be the keynote speakers at each event offering insight into their seasons and "X's and O's" from their respective sport, as well as answering questions from those in attendance.
This week basketball is thrust into the forefront as both the Catamounts and Lady Catamounts will take the hardwood in exhibition action. Hunter and the Catamount men's squad hosts Milligan College at 7:03 pm tonight (Wednesday) in the Ramsey Center with the Lady Catamounts entertaining Carson-Newman at 7:00 pm on Thursday night.
There is an open invitation to everyone in the surrounding communities, but an RSVP is requested by the Friday prior to the next event to allow proper preparations to be made. The cost of the luncheon is $7.00 per person.
Next week's luncheon will again feature Catamount head football coach Kent Briggs as Western prepares for its annual gridiron grudge match with arch-rival, Appalachian State, in the "Battle for the Old Mountain Jug," which will be nationally broadcast on a tape delay by ESPNU.
