Cullowhee, N.C. -
After scoring 26 points in an overtime loss to San Antonio in game two of the NBA first round playoffs, former Catamount Kevin Martin only scored 10 in Sacramento's 94-93 victory over the defending champion Spurs on Friday night. However, two of those 10 points came at the buzzer as Martin made a layup as time expired over perennial all-star Tim Duncan to give his Kings the win.
Down one, Mike Bibby got a steal on the defensive end for the Kings and found Martin sprinting down the left side of the court. Martin got the ball just inside the mid-court line and drove the ball to the basket. Martin admits he was just trying to draw a foul and get to the free throw line, but his shot made it through the arms of Duncan, bounced several times on the rim and dropped through the net as time expired.
