Western Carolina men's basketball sophomore Brandon Giles was involved in an automobile accident late Saturday night/early Sunday morning when the car in which he was a passenger was struck by another vehicle in the north bound lane on N.C. Highway 107 just across from the Ramsey Center.
Giles was treated and released from Harris Regional Hospital in Sylva on Sunday morning with minor injuries. His status for Thursday's home finale against Wofford will be re-evaluated this week with the WCU Athletic Training Staff.
WCU head coach Larry Hunter was made aware of the incident early Sunday morning and he visited with Giles in the hospital prior to his release.
