The Western Carolina Catamount Coaches' Luncheon returns on Wednesday, Jan. 26 beginning at 11:45 am at O'Malley's Bar & Grill in Sylva. Both head basketball coaches Karen Middleton and Larry Hunter will be on hand to discuss their respective seasons, while also looking ahead to upcoming games on the schedule.
O'Malley's Bar & Grill in Sylva will host the lunch-time social that will include video highlights, chalk talk and question/answer session with both coaches. Fans can order lunch off of O'Malley's menu while listening to the both head coaches with question/answer sessions.
The event is scheduled to begin at 11:45 am with both coaches on-hand for a meet-and-greet, followed by the official program beginning just after Noon and lasting until 1:00 pm.
Western Carolina's men's squad is amidst a stretch where two of the next three games will be played on the road. The lone home date during that time frame is Thursday, Jan. 27 as the Catamounts host Furman at 7:00 pm in the Ramsey Center before consecutive road games at Wofford (Jan. 29) and Elon (Feb. 3). WCU has won four-straight over the Paladins and look to extend its current seven-game home winning streak which dates back to last season.
The Catamount women return home for back-to-back home games beginning this Saturday, Jan. 29 for the squad's "Pink Zone" game against the SoCon's second-place squad, the Elon Phoenix. All fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. Tip-off on Saturday is 2:00 pm.
Then, on Monday, Jan. 31, WCU's women host Appalachian State at Noon for their annual Education Day game. School-age children will descend upon the Ramsey Center for the hardwood grudge match with the Mountaineers, while also offering a great opportunity for fans to spend their lunch hour watching Catamount hoops.
