Southern Conference Men's & Women's Basketball Championship Information
Cullowhee, N.C. - Tickets to the 2007 Southern Conference Men's and Women's Basketball Championships are available now through MONDAY ONLY at the WCU Ticket Office. After Monday, fans will have to contact the Box Office at the North Charleston Coliseum to get tickets for the annual event. You are not going to want to miss out on the opportunity to see both Catamount men and women's basketball teams in action as they battle for the right to be called the 2007 SoCon Tournament Champions and punch their ticket into the "Big Dance."
All games this year will be played at the North Charleston Coliseum with opening round games of the women's tournament tipping-off all of the action on Tuesday, Feb. 27, with championship play for both sides finishing up on Saturday, March 3 in the finals.
Single-session tickets are available for purchase for $12.00 each. These are general admission tickets that are valid to use for any game during the tournament and are not specific to any one game.
As the number one seed, Western Carolina's women will play the second game of the women's second day of action, tipping at around Noon on Wednesday (Feb. 28), while the men will play the last game on Wednesday night -- starting at approximately 8:00 pm.
Activities surrounding the 2007 Southern Conference Men's and Women's Basketball Championships commences on Tuesday (Feb. 27) evening as the Western Club of the Lowcountry invites all alum and Catamount faithful to a social from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Riverview. Come socialize with WCU alum and get excited for the SoCon basketball tourney. Western's head coaches Kellie Harper and Larry Hunter will be in attendance as their practice/scouting schedules permit.
Also, the Catamount Sports Network will be broadcasting a tournament preview show LIVE from 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm from the social event. The show will air on WWCU-FM, Power 90dot5 in Cullowhee.
Prior to each game, the Catamount Club will be host pre-game receptions and pep rallies at the Comfort Suites, North Charleston on days and times to be determined by the schedule of games played by our men's and women's teams throughout the SoCon Tournament. The times of these events will be posted on this website and announced at the hotel as plans are developed.
