Latest Negus McKenna Blog

Jan. 23, 2008

Hello everyone in Catamount County, this is your senior Negus McKenna reporting for the men's basketball team. Although we have been in a bit of slump lately we know how good we can be when we are all on the same page, if we can give the same effort we had against NC State, Illinois and Cincinnati.

For those of you who don't know what has been going on as of late let me refresh your memory.

We are currently on the heels of a two game losing streak which is unfortunate, but the more unfortunate thing is that we feel we didn't give the effort necessary to beat a good team like Davidson in front of you, our home crowd.

Nonetheless, we were led by sophomore standout Brandon Giles who poured in 23 points, along with sharpshooting Jake Robinson who drained four treys, to finish up with 12 points. Also Blake Gallagher had a stellar performance with 12 points and eight rebounds.

Regardless of the outcome we want to thank the fans and supporters that come out to our games regardless of whether we win or lose. We know it is becoming tiring seeing us on the losing end so much but we assure you change is on the way.

The next challenge for us is the Elon Phoenix, whom we host this Thursday at the Ramsey Center. They were our first conference loss this season, so we are looking to avenge that loss as well as our last home loss in front of our home crowd. We know that this will not be an easy task but we are binding together and buying into team strategies. We hope that all of our preparation will help us peak at the right moment so we can put up a banner.

Well, that's all I have to report for now, I will check back in with you next week so in the meantime, God Bless and GO CATS.
