WCU head coach Larry Hunter:
On the struggles in the first half:
"I just scratch my head with the first half. I didn't see my team out there. I didn't think we were mentally ready to go. We couldn't catch passes, missed lay-ups didn't guard anyone. Give Chattanooga all kind of credit. The last several years, we've jumped on them pretty good here at home in the first half and they were determined they weren't going to let that happen."
"I thought we regrouped, got it back to two (points) in the second half. But I don't think we played very smart when we got it back to that point; fouled way out on the court, let them build the lead back out to five-or-six points and that was pretty much the ball game. We had talked about not fouling because that is how they were getting their points, and yet we didn't do that."
On redshirt junior Trey Sumler, looking ahead to Samford:
"Chattanooga was tough on Trey (Sumler), but I just don't think he played very aggressively. He's going to have his off nights, but he still did some good things. We had better regroup; we'll find out what we're made of real soon and see how we respond."
WCU junior forward Brandon Boggs:
On the loss to Chattanooga:
"We played like our ourselves in the second half; we just have to stop digging ourselves in a hole."
On coming off the bench:
"I don't mind coming off the bench. Preston (Ross) has been playing pretty good and he deserves to start if I'm not playing well."
