WCU head coach Larry Hunter:
"I thought the first 10-to-12 minutes really got things going for us. Our defense was terrific in the first half and we really put ourselves in a good position for the second half. Brandon (Boggs) really gave us a good game with his play in the second half. I thought Preston (Ross) and James Sinclair got us off to a good start. I thought Brandon (Boggs) in the second half was unbelievable - it was good to see him get it going again. We had a lot of guys step up tonight and we didn't have to put so much pressure on Trey (Sumler) to do it all. Trey does his thing, but it was nice to see other people contributing."
"There were a lot of positives out here tonight. Coastal Carolina is a good ball club; they are very well coached. They made their run in the second half and we answered it. We haven't really `punched anyone in the nose' in the first half - haven't really gotten off to a great start at home, and we really did that today."
Junior forward Brandon Boggs:
On today's game against Coastal Carolina:
"We came out with a lot of energy. We played a really good team; we just hit a lot of good shots."
On the play of his teammates in the first half:
"With me coming off the bench today, we fed off of James Sinclair and Preston Ross today. I saw them playing well early, so I wanted to play well, too. Coach really challenged us to play better at home, defend our home court."
Looking ahead the upcoming week:
"We have two really good teams coming up and they both have improved. We have to play like we did tonight - with a lot of energy."
