Final Stats

Charleston, S.C. - Nick Aldridge's career-high 39 points was not enough for Western Carolina (9-14, 6-6) as they fell to the College of Charleston (16-8, 9-3), 76-64, Monday night at John Kresse Arena. Jermaine Johnson led the Cougars with 18 points while College of Charleston shot 55.1% from the field to extend their winning streak over the Catamounts to eight games.

College of Charleston began the contest with an 8-0 run during the first 3:34 of the first half, shooting a 68% clip from the field. The Cougars took a 44-29 advantage into halftime, compliments of a 7-of-12 performance from three-point range.

The Catamounts were trailing 62-43 at the 10:52 mark in the second half until they went on a 10-0 run to cut the Cougar lead to nine at the 6:13 mark but failed to get any closer.

The Catamounts will return to action this Saturday in Cullowhee in the second half of a Southern Conference basketball double-header. Western's women entertain the Chattanooga Lady Mocs at 1:30 pm, followed by the men facing the Georgia Southern Eagles at 4:00 pm. Both games will be broadcast live on CSS TV and also by the Catamount Sports Network and can be heard in Western North Carolina on WWCU-FM, Power90dot5 in Cullowhee or on-line at www.WWCUFM.com
