Western Carolina Head Coach Larry Hunter
Saturday afternoon's opening statement:
"It's another one of those ball games from our perspective that was there to be won or lost. We haven't been able to get over the hump and step up and make the plays that we needed at either end. We had a chance to get some loose balls that we didn't get it. We had a couple of crucial turnovers in the end there, and a bunch of open jumpers that you have to hit to win ball games."
Significance on finding a rhythm during upcoming three-game road swing:
"We have to take care of our home court and we've gotten away from that. We need to play with emotion, and I thought we had some body language that I didn't like today. We showed some frustration on the court and you can't show that on the court."
On the competitiveness in the SoCon:
"Everybody is pretty competitive in the SoCon, and they have very good players. It makes for a good league which makes for a lot of close ball games. The teams that can come up on top are the ones that can demonstrate they can step up, get stops, and make plays that impact winning the game"
On playing at home:
"I have good kids. They have heart and I think they demonstrate that. That's why people come in here with an edge because I think they respect that we play pretty hard and can do some things solidly. They know if they are going to get a win they have to play well."
