Had surgery during the summer on his right foot ... An infection developed requiring additional work ... However, came back full go when fall semester started and should show no signs of being slowed.

2005-06 (Fr.): The first signee of WCU head coach Larry Hunter ... Started the season playing solely at the five spot, but, starting with the Georgia game, played some at the four spot as well, putting him and David Berghoefer on the floor at the same time ... Sank 2-of-4 3-pointers at Northern Iowa and his toughness set the stage for him getting a start in his next game ... Got his first (and only) start versus Atlanta Christian and responded by getting his first double-digit scoring performance with 10 points, making 6-of-7 at the free throw line ... Added a season-high five rebounds ... Scored a game- and season-high 18 points versus Toccoa Falls, making 8-of-10 shots from the field ... Only made three baskets at East Carolina, but they were all big in the win, including him making his only two 3-point attempts of the game ... Came off the bench to provide a spark at Wofford ... Pulled down a season-high nine rebounds (four offensive), while getting two assists and two steals versus the Terriers ... Played 14 minutes in the regular-season finale at Chattanooga, his most minutes since playing 20 at Georgia ... Scored six points and grabbed four rebounds versus the Mocs. Scored four straight points midway through the second half to give WCU a brief lead.

Prior to Western: The first signee for Coach Larry Hunter as Catamounts' 17th head coach ... Missed most of his senior season with an injury, but was still named second team All-Waccamaw Conference, averaging 12 points and seven rebounds ... As a junior, was tabbed All-State, leading East Bladen to the 2A state title game and a 25-2 record ... In that championship game, which East Bladen lost 87-63 to Burlington Cummings HS, Johnson led the Eagles with 15 points and eight rebounds ... A two-time first team All-Waccamaw Conference pick ... Averaged a double-double as a junior (16 points and 10 rebounds), adding six assists and five steals per contest ... As a sophomore, averaged 11 points and eight rebounds ... Also played soccer at East Bladen ... Prior to his senior year of high school, played for an AAU team out of Myrtle Beach, S.C. ... Played for the Carolina Crusaders after his senior season ended in 2005, making the North Carolina AAU All-State team.
