The WCU men's basketball team opened up the 2012-13 season officially with its first practice of the season in the Ramsey Center, Friday evening.

2012-13 (Sophomore): Played in 21 games for the Catamounts including two stretches of seven straight games with an appearance ... Grabbed a season-high five twice, vs. Mars Hill (11/11) and at Tennessee (12/21) ... Saw a season-high 16 minutes in the Tennessee game ... Blocked two shots and scored a season-high four points in 15 minutes of action against Warren Wilson (01/07) ... Tied season-high point total with four against Samford (03/02) ... Finished with 33 blocked shots, just three shy of moving onto the WCU single-season chart ... Named the team's Most Improved Player by the coaching staff at the post-season gathering ... Prior to Western Carolina: Played for head coach James May at South Oak Cliff HS, a renowned basketball school in Dallas, Texas ... As a junior, averaged 10 points, eight rebounds and five blocked shots per game, garnering All-District plaudits as well as being named the District Defensive Player of the Year ... Played AAU basketball with the DFW Urban Elite out of Dallas during the summer of 2010.
