Franklin, N.C. - The Western Carolina Catamount baseball team held its second fall clinic and intrasquad scrimmage last Saturday (Oct. 18) at the Franklin High School baseball field.

The afternoon event featured a short clinic for position players and pitchers, followed by a home run derby between the Catamount sluggers. The evening was capped by an intrasquad scrimmage.

WCU second-year head coach Bobby Moranda hopes to culminate its fall workouts with the annual Fall World Series intrasquad scrimmage the first week of November. (More details to follow).

The Catamounts will open their 2009 season with a three-game, non-conference homestand against Bowling Green February 20-22 in Cullowhee.
