Western Carolina rising senior infielder Tyler White was named the Offensive Player of the Game in the Coastal Plains League's All-Star game held earlier this week. The honor was voted on by the media in attendance and presented to White following the game.
White helped lead the National CPL All-Stars over the American CPL All-Stars, 4-1, by doubling in his lone plate appearance, driving in and scoring a run. White, who is playing for the Gastonia Grizzlies this summer, is hitting .299 on the season to lead the team.
In addition to White in the CPL, Western Carolina also had summer league teammates Julian Ridings and Jacob Hoyle make the Valley League South Division All-Star game, while Bradley Strong was a starter for the East Division Squad in the Prospect League.

Burton has made 39 appearances out of the Twins' bullpen this season, recording 13 holds and three saves ... Burton is 1-0 on the season with a 2.35 ERA ... He's struck out 35 batters against 10 walks in 38.1 innings pitched, limiting opponents to a .197 batting average ... For his MLB career, has appeared in 203 games with an 11-3 overall record with three saves ... Burton was selected by the Oakland Athletics in the eighth round of the 2002 MLB First-Year Player Draft ... Has only played in four games with Potomac, hitting .200 with an RBI ... Recently placed on the seven-day disabled list ... Greer was selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 14th-round of the 2009 MLB First-Year Player Draft.
Nick Liles - Richmond (Va.) Flying Squirrels - Double A Advanced, Eastern League:
Is batting .261 through 61 games played with Richmond ... Has 64 hits on the season including five extra base hits (three doubles, two triples) and 19 walks ... Has five stolen bases ... Worked with former Giants great, Will Clark, this summer on his swing ... Liles was selected by the San Francisco Giants in the seventh round of the 2009 MLB First-Year Player Draft.

With Lynchburg, has started five of the seven games in which he's seen action, tossing 30 innings with a 5.40 ERA and an 0-3 record ... Has 22 strikeouts against 12 walks on the year ... Has started 37 of the 38 games in which he's seen action ... Has struggled with just a .175 batting average with the wooden bats, collecting 24 hits including six doubles and two home runs ... Has 11 RBI and 19 walks ... Is a perfect 6-for-6 in stolen bases.
Hunter Brister - Rockbridge (Va.) Rapids, Valley League:
Left the Tennessee Big Train to join Rockbridge in the Valley League ... Three of his four appearances with Tennessee were starts, posting a 2-1 record ... Has made six appearances since joining the Rapids, tossing 4.2 innings with a 0-1 record.
Adam Curtis - Waynesboro (Va.) Generals, Valley League:
Has made seven appearances, all starts ... Has a 3-1 overall record and a 4.02 ERA through 40.1 innings tossed ... Has 25 strikeouts against 11 walks ...
