Nick Likes, a rising junior on the Western Carolina Catamount baseball team, was named as the starting second baseman for the East Division All-Stars in this weekend's 46th annual Under Armour - Cape Cod League All-Star Game. The game will be played Saturday, July 26 at 7:00 pm at Veterans Field in Chatham, Mass.
Liles, who is playing for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox, currently ranks seventh in the Cape with a .351 batting average (40-of-114) with 19 RBI. His 40 base hits currently rank him fifth overall. The Laurinburg, N.C., native also leads the summer league with 12 stolen bases.
The New England Sports Network (NESN) will be on hand to present a live telecast of the game for the first time. (Check satellite listings for availability).

Matt Benedict (Duluth Huskies, Northwoods): Has pitched in 12 games with three starts and currently has a record of 0-0 ... Has an ERA of 6.43 in 28.0 innings pitched with 24 strikeouts and 24 walks.
Logan Bland (Forest City Owls, Coastal Plain): Only appeared in 23 of the 43 games to date with 20 starting nods ... is hitting .187 (14-of-75) with four doubles and eight RBI.
Dylan de Graaf (Thomasville Hi-Toms, Coastal Plain): Has played in 18 of the 45 games to date with 12 starts ... is hitting .184 (7-for-38) with four RBI and 12 walks, the most among the players that don't play every day.
Brandon Johnson (Madison Mallards, Northwoods): Tied for the team lead with four wins (4-3) in 12 appearances including three starts ... In 29.0 innings pitched, has a 4.34 ERA with 24 strikeouts versus 21 walks.
Tyler Kirkpatrick (Winchester Royals, Valley): Has played in 28 of the 38 games to date, making 20 starts overall ... in 73 at bats this summer, is hitting .205 (15-of-73) with three doubles and an RBI ... he has walked four times and is a perfect 3-for-3 in the stolen base department.
Chris Masters (Y-D Red Sox, Cape Cod): Has made seven appearances this summer as a teammate of Liles with 28 strikeouts (4th on the team) in 26.2 innings pitched ... His 3.71 ERA is third-lowest on the team among pitchers with five or more appearances.
Daniel Ottone (Faquier Gators, Valley): Has a 2-2 overall record in six appearances, all starts ... In 30 innings pitched, has a 3.90 ERA with 22 strikeouts against 13 walks.

Jared Burton (Cincinnati Reds): Currently boasts a 4-1 overall record with a team-best 2.23 ERA in 43 appearances and 48.1 innings pitched this year ... Has 50 strikeouts against 17 walks while only allowing 15 runs, 12 of which were earned ... He is currently on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right lat muscle

Blake Murphy (Batavia Muckdogs, Class A Short Season): Currently hitting .238 overall, but is a sizzling .381 against left-handed pitching and is .341 in home games ... Has two home runs and 14 walks on the year.
Tyler Sexton (Bluefield Orioles, Rookie): Currently 1-3 overall record with a 3.46 ERA in six appearances, all starts ... Has struck out 18 against seven walks in 26.0 innings of work.
Barrett Shaft (Midwest Sliders, Independent): Signed a contract with the independent league Midwest Sliders ... He has played in 21 games thus far this season and is currently hitting .205 (16-of-78) with three doubles, a home run and six RBI ... He has also walked three times.
Jonathan Greene (Clinton LumberKings, Class A of the Texas Rangers): Through 90 games played this season, is hitting .232 (72-of-311) with 16 home runs, 14 doubles and 62 RBI ... Also has walked 33 times this year ... He is hitting .325 against left-handed pitching this season.
Greg Holland (Wilmington Blue Rocks, Advanced Class A): Currently 4-4 overall with three saves ... Has a 3.70 ERA through 56 innings pitched, boasting 61 strikeouts against just 23 walks ... He is 2-1 as a reliever with a 2-3 mark as a starting pitcher.
Steven Strausbaugh (Staten Island Yankees, Class A Short Season): Moved from the outfield to behind the plate, the 2007 New York Yankees 37th round draft pick has only played in five games thus far this season, currently with one base hit in 11 plate appearances (.091 average) with a walk and a pair of strikeouts ... He does have one run scored and one RBI.
