Cullowhee, N.C. - The Western Carolina baseball team has announced two changes to the Catamount baseball schedule for this week, which will wrap up the regular season. First, Tuesday's game at East Tennessee State has been moved again, now starting at 2:00 pm at Johnson City's Cardinal Park. (First schedules had that game originally set for Wednesday, then late last week it was moved to 3 pm Tuesday.) Also, Western's weekend series with Furman has been altered. The teams will play one game Friday, as scheduled at 7 pm, and play a doubleheader on Saturday, starting at 2:00 pm.
For all three conference games versus Furman, the WCU Athletics Department will sponsor "Kids' Weekend" at the ball park. All kids 13 years of age and under will receive FREE admission, as well as receive a free bag of David's Sunflower Seeds and will have a chance to win a Catamount baseball T-shirt, autographed baseballs, a $5-coupon to the concessions stand and an opportunity to sing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame."
There will also be a team autograph session following the games this weekend.
In addition to wrapping up the 2006 regular season with a doubleheader Saturday, Western will also honor its six seniors prior to Saturday's first game as well.
