Western Carolina's Saturday Baseball Game Postponed; Will Play Double-Header Sunday Starting at 1:00 p.m.

April 19, 2008

Boone, N.C. - Rain and thunderstorms that moved through the Boone area and provided a steady dose of severe weather throughout the day on Saturday have forced officials to postpone the second game of a three-game Southern Conference series between the Catamounts and Appalachian State.

The series will now conclude with a double-header slated to begin at 1:00 p.m. at Jim & Bettie Smith Stadium in Boone. The second game will immediately follow the conclusion of the regularly scheduled 1:00 p.m. matchup.

Western Carolina (17-19, 6-7 SoCon) will be looking to take the final two games in the series after dropping the opener, 6-2, the Mountaineers on Friday night. The Cats have been on a tear lately, winning 11 of their last 16, including a season-long six-game winning streak.

Fans that are unable to make it up the mountain will be able to follow all the action of both games via Live Stats, available by following the link in the schedule box on CatamountSports.com. Any additional weather-related delays or cancellations will be posted on CatamountSports.com as soon as they are announced.
