Spartanburg, S.C. - Western Carolina's Friday night Southern Conference baseball game at Wofford continues to be in a rain delay as showers continue to fall throughout the region. Rain is forecasted to end just after 8:00 pm with the hope of preparing the field for play after.
The game, originally slated for a 7:00 pm first pitch, was pushed back to approximately 8:30 pm as officials had hoped to pull the tarp at Russell King Field just after 7:00 pm. However, lingering storm cells have forced the first pitch to be delayed further.
It is uncertain at what time tonight's game will begin - however, officials on both sides are working to get the game in tonight. Three other SoCon series have already been postponed tonight across the league.
All three games will be broadcast by the Catamount Sports Network and can be heard on WWCU-FM, Power 90dot5 and online at www.WWCUFM.com. Air time Friday night is 8:15 pm with first pitch slated for 8:30 pm.
Fans are advised to check CatamountSports.com throughout the weekend for possible schedule changes as rain and thunderstorms are forecasted through Saturday.
