Davidson, N.C. -
With an impending threat of rain beginning midday, officials at Davidson College have postponed today's scheduled baseball game with Western Carolina, pushing Saturday's game into a doubleheader beginning at Noon at Wilson Field.
Originally scheduled for a 2 pm first pitch, Saturday's game was moved up to an 11 am start on Friday evening after WCU's 2-1 series-opening victory. However, with updated forecasts available on Saturday morning, the coaching staffs felt it prudent to reschedule, setting up for a Sunday afternoon twin-bill.
Both games are scheduled to be broadcast on the Catamount Sports Network and can be heard online at www.CatamountSports.com beginning with air time at 11:45 am.
Western Carolina (9-10-1, 1-6 SoCon) is scheduled to start freshman RHP Jordan Smith (2-2, 4.30 ERA) while Davidson will counter with senior RHP Ian Horkley (2-2, 3.80 ERA) in game one of the double-header at Noon. WCU will hand the ball to sophomore Adam Curtis (1-0, 3.97 ERA) in game two on Sunday afternoon while the Wildcats have yet to announce a starting pitcher.
