Cullowhee, N.C. - Tuesday's first pitch of game one of the two-game, midweek nonconference series between Western Carolina and Longwood has been pushed back to a 7:00 pm start due to a wet playing surface at Childress Field / Hennon Stadium.
Heavy rains overnight and sporadic showers throughout the morning hours left the tarp-covered field unplayable by early afternoon prompting officials to move the start time back later in the day to allow ample drying time. Partly sunny skies and breezy conditions are aiding the field crew in preparing the field for the first-ever meeting between the Catamounts and Lancers.
Tuesday evening's projected pitching match-up pits WCU senior LHP Adam Curtis (1-0, 1.50 ERA) against Longwood senior Kyler Morgan (0-0, 8.10 ERA).
