Catamount Baseball Season Opener at High Point Postponed; Rescheduled for April 24th

Feb. 13, 2007

Cullowhee, N.C. - With heavy rains forecasted in the Piedmont Triad on Tuesday, Western Carolina's season-opening baseball game against the High Point Panthers has been postponed. The game will now be made up on Tuesday, April 24th at 2:00 pm on-campus at HPU.

Originally scheduled to be played at High Point on Tuesday, the game was moved to the Greensboro Grasshoppers' First Horizon Park in downtown Greensboro in late January. Officials at High Point, in conjunction with the management of ball park, decided to postpone the game in the interest of safety and care of the facility.

The Catamounts will now open their 2007 baseball season this weekend in a three-game series at Kennesaw State in Kennesaw, Ga. The first game is slated for 4:00 pm this Friday, Feb. 16, with the games on Saturday (Feb. 17) and Sunday (Feb. 18) scheduled for first pitch at 1:00 pm.
