2005: - Was still limited due to his off-season surgery, which forced him to redshirt the previous season ... Had his best outing in a win over Georgia State, retiring seven of the eight batters he faced with two strikeouts to get the win ... Pitched the final two innings, allowing one hit and one walk with a strikeout, to get his first career save versus Brown ... Improved to 2-0 on the season, pitching 1.1 innings in relief at Davidson.
2004: Took a medical redshirt ... After having off-season surgery on his throwing (left) shoulder, pitched in opening series at Auburn ... However, only lasted 1.1 innings before leaving with an injury, forcing him to sit out the remainder of the season ... Was tabbed 2004 second team All-Southern Conference pitcher by the league's coaches in the preseason.
2003: WCU most versatile player, putting up impressive numbers as a starting pitcher and designated hitter ... Was 7-2 on the mound with a 3.42 ERA and posted a .326 batting average with 17 RBI, seven doubles and three home runs ... Named to the NCAA Wilson Regional All-Tournament team for his dominating performance on the mound versus 19th-ranked Virginia Commonwealth ... Pitched a complete-game shutout, allowing just one hit -- that coming from the leadoff hitter in the ninth ... Struck out seven and walked three versus the Rams to put WCU in the Regional title game ... 2002: Got off to a slow start in his freshman season, but put together four impressive outings to close the season ... Gave up five home runs and 10 total runs in his first four outings (2.2 innings) ... However, pitched five solid innings at Winthrop, allowing five hits and two runs in 5.0 innings ... Retired all nine batters he faced in three innings in the second game at UNC Asheville, striking out two ... Also started the game at Tennessee Tech ... His time on the mound was brief versus the Eagles, but very effective, as the game was cancelled due to rain after one inning ... Wrapped up the season by pitching two effective innings in Western's win over Wofford in the Southern Conference Championship ... Only allowed one hit with two strikeouts.
HIGH SCHOOL: Named Western North Carolina Baseball Player of the Year by the Asheville Citizen-Times as a senior ... A two-time Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year and All-State selection ... Led Franklin to the 3A state championship as a senior, going 11-2 on the mound with a 1.98 ERA and a school-record 133 strikeouts, while batting .371 with seven home runs and 33 RBI.
