Baseball wins season opener against Purdue 17-6

Western Carolina wins seventh straight season opener and tenth in to begin 2015 season at Childress Field/Hennon Stadium.

Career: Has been plunked 27 times during his WCU career, already tied for 15th-most in program history.

2015 (Junior): Started in all 48 games in which he played ... 38 of his starts came behind the plate with six starts at first base, two in right field and twice as the designated hitter ... Ranked third on the team with a .317 batting average ... Ranked second on the team with 10 multiple RBI games and was tied for third with 19 multi-hit games ... Second on the team with 14 doubles ...
