2009 (Red-shirt Freshman): Saw action in two games off the bench, seeing his first collegiate action on March 17 in a home win over High Point ... Came on as a substitution in the eighth inning and laid out to snare a two-hop ground ball to the right side, throwing on to second to nail the lead runner ... Tallied his first career base hit with a pinch-hit RBI single through the left side in the eight-run eighth inning in game one of a double-header against Samford ... Was a part of a 6-4-3 double-play and a strikeout throw to first in the ninth at first base ... Finished with three putouts and one assist on the season ... Missed most of fall practices going into the '09 season with a neck injury that prohibited him from working out with the team.
2008 (Freshman): Redshirted.
High School: Two time All-Smoky Mountain Conference selection as a junior and a senior ... Sophomore year, was named as an honorable mention All-Conference player ... Batted .369 during his senior season, with eight stolen bases to lead his team to a 22-5 record and the second conference championship in school history ... Was a part of two consecutive conference runner-up squads the previous seasons ... In addition to his success on the diamond, he was also named the Conference Lineman of the Year in football ... Captained three sports his final prep season, leading the football, basketball and baseball teams.
