Western Carolina Wins SoCon Series over Davidson

Cody Jones went 3-for-3 and Bradley Strong drove in three runs as Western Carolina downed Davidson, 5-3, on Sunday.

2013 (Junior): Prior to the season, was one of four players selected as a team captain - the lone junior recognized by his teammates.

2012 (Sophomore): Started 50 of the 53 games in which he saw action including 40-straight games to end the season ... Made 38 starts in right field and a dozen in center field ... Hit .312 on the year with eight of his 62 seasonal hits going for extra bases including five doubles ... Batted in eight of the nine slots in the batting order - the most on the team - hitting in every spot except the lead-off ... Hit .328 (20-of-61) against left-handed pitching ... Ranked tied for second on the team with 22 multiple hit games and had four multiple RBI performances ... Drove in 23 runs on the season ... Was selected second team All-SoCon in the outfield by College Sports Madness ... Belted an extra-inning, go-ahead home run in the loss to UNC Asheville (March 21) at McCormick Field ...
