2013 (Sophomore): Played in 38 games making 30 starts including 25 starts at first base, two apiece in left and right field and once as the designated hitter ... Missed the last month of the season due to injury ... Posted a .281 (36-for-128) batting average for the season including a .317 (20-for-63) mark in Southern Conference play ... Recorded 13 extra base hits including 11 doubles and two home runs ... Finished the season with 16 RBI ... Tallied a career-high three base hits in a game on four separate occasions, finishing with nine multiple hit games and multiple RBI four times ... Collected his first career extra base hit in the season-opener against Pac-12 foe, Washington State (Feb. 15) with a double ... Enjoyed a career-long, nine-game hitting streak from March 5 through March 17, raising his batting average to a season-high .333 with four multi-hit games ... Belted his first career home run at Davidson (March 8) with his lead-off ninth inning shot knotting the game at four apiece and forcing extra innings where WCU won in 13 ... Drove in a career-high three in a home win over Eastern Kentucky (March 13) on a 3-for-4 showing ... While ailing with a nagging injury, went hitless in his final six games of the season before being sidelined, going 0-for-9 at the plate.
2012 (Freshman): Saw limited action as a true freshman, coming off of off-season shoulder surgery ... Only played in four games including two starts, making his collegiate debut against eventual Big Ten champion, Purdue (February 26) at the Keith LeClair Classic as the designated hitter ... Finished 2-for-9 (.222) at the plate ... Secured his first collegiate base hit at home against Iona (March 3) with a pinch hit RBI single down the left field line in the sixth inning ... Made his first-ever start in the field in the final game of the Jacksonville, Fla., trip, starting at third base against Fairfield (March 18); Summer League: Played for the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters in the Northwoods League ... Finished second on the team with a .306 batting average (57-of-186) including 18 extra base hits with 11 doubles, one triple and six home runs ... Scored 24 runs ... Stole nine bases in 14 attempts.
Prior to Western Carolina: Was a three-time, first-team All-County selection, hitting .510 for his prep career ... Amassed 49 career doubles, 16 triples and 23 home runs during high school, driving in 112 runs in three seasons ... Earned All-State plaudits both as a junior and a senior, also picking up Gatorade Player of the Year honors in the latter.

Both of his parents are former ACC Track & Field Champions at Clemson - his mother was all-conference in the discus and javelin, while his father excelled in the hammer and weight throws.
