Cullowhee, N.C. - With the end of the fiscal year 2014 rapidly approaching on June 30, the Catamount Club and Western Carolina athletics continue to need the support of each of its fans and supporters to reach the goal of raising $850,000 towards the Catamount Athletic Scholarship Fund. Contributions made to The Catamount Club directly fund scholarships which support the individual student-athletes in each of WCU's 16 intercollegiate sports.

The closing days before the end of the financial calendar are crucial as the Catamount Club strives to reach its goals for monetary contributions to the Catamount Scholarship Fund. The organization has currently received over $759,000 to date towards the Catamount Scholarship Fund with membership renewals and new members arriving daily.

"With three Southern Conference team championships and a men's golf individual championship already under our belt in 2014, this continues to be a very exciting time in Catamount Athletics," said Gorham Bradley, WCU's Associate Athletic Director and Director of the Catamount Club.

"We have experienced tremendous success within the Catamount Club over the past several years through the support and loyalty of the Catamount family. The success of our student-athletes both in the classroom and on the field is a direct result of the dedication and generosity of our Catamount Club members to WCU. As we make our final push over the coming week to reach our goal of $850,000, we are asking all of our members who have not done so already to renew their membership, and those new members to join the Catamount Club by June 30, 2014. Your generosity is truly making a difference for Western Carolina University."

In addition to money raised through memberships, the Catamount Club has found great success in initiatives such as the six-stop "Catamounts Unite Tour," and the on-going Catamount Golf Tour events. The next golf tournament scheduled is the Great Smokies Invitational at The Ridges Golf Club in Hayesville, N.C., on Friday, July 11.
