Cullowhee, N.C. -

Former Western Carolina cross country / track & field standout, Jenny Lind DeWeese, finished the Chicago Marathon in 2 hours, 44 minutes and 55 seconds and has earned a trip to the April 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials for marathon in Boston, where she will compete for a spot on the U.S. Olympic Team.

Currently a teacher at Fairview Elementary in Sylva, the former Jenny Lind is married to the head track & field coach at UNC Asheville -- and also a WCU alum -- Brad DeWeese.

Lind was a NCAA regionalist in cross country and was also a Southern Conference champion in the 10,000-meters during her time at Western Carolina.
