Asheville, N.C. - Western Carolina cross country standout Caleb Bailey was named the Southern Conference Runner of the Week for the week of September 17.

Bailey competed in the WCU Invitational, September 1, and the Catamount Classic, September 8, winning both events. The Lawrenceville, Ga., native led the team in the WCU Invitational with an 8K time of 26:14. Bailey also won the Catamount Classic setting a course record with a 5K time of 15:06.

"To date, Caleb is doing an outstanding job running at the front of the pack for our team," said Head Coach Danny Williamson. "He has a strong determination to win and that is a great attitude to have."
