Cullowhee, NC- The Western Carolina men's cross country team was picked 8th in the SoCon preseason poll, while the women's cross country team was picked 7th in the SoCon preseason poll.

The men's team is led by junior runner Stephen Hammond who placed 12th in the SoCon championship last season and will look to continue his success in 2008.

The women's team is led by two senior runners Skye Aiello and Megan Isaacs who both finished in the top 40 in the SoCon championship last season and hope to bring added intensity in 2008.

Last season the men's team finished the SoCon championship in 7th place and the women's finished in 6th place. This year both teams will look to improve on their times from last season.
