Cullowhee, N.C. - Head coach men's and women's cross country coach Danny Williamson has announced eight competition dates for the 2013 season that opens with the Western Carolina Invitational on August 30.
The opening weekend is one of three meets to be held in Cullowhee. The Catamounts will also host a high school and middle school meet on September 7, and the Catamount Classic on October 4.
September 14 the teams make the short trip to Asheville, N.C. for the UNC Asheville Invitational. WCU will either travel to the Winthrop Adidas Invitational on September 21 in Rock Hill, S.C. or the Charlotte XC Invitational on September 28 in Charlotte, N.C.
The following weekend WCU will either run in Catamount Classic or the Greater Louisville XC Classic in Louisville, Ky. on October 5. After a week layoff, the squads will return to the course with the Blue Ridge Open in Boone, N.C. on October 18. Following another week of rest, the Catamounts will head to Birmingham, Ala. for the Southern Conference Championship Meet.
The NCAA Southeast Regional is set for November 15 in Charlottesville, Va., and the NCAA Championship is slated for November 23 in Terre Haute, Ind.
