Cullowhee, N.C. - Western Carolina's women's team finished third overall in the N.C. Intercollegiate Cross Country Championships, Saturday, October 14, 2000.
Sophomore Melanie Cooper led the way for the Lady Cats finishing sixth overall with a time of 18:55. Following Cooper was sophomore Whitney Woods who placed 14th recording a time of 19:24.
The women finished third of 12 teams. UNC Asheville won the event with Duke finishing second.
Sophomore Jesse Norman, who placed 10th overall with a time of 26:12, led the men. Freshman Philip Ramsey finished in 41st place with a time of 27:50.
The men's team placed seventh of 11 teams competing with Chapel Hill taking first and Duke placing second.
