Final Stats

Boone, N.C. - The men's and women's cross country teams finished third in the Blue Ridge Open Friday night in Boone, N.C.

The men's team was led by Caleb Bailey, who finished second with a time of 25:22, just two seconds shy of his personal best. Jesse Norman placed ninth in the race with a time of 25:56. He was followed by Ben Watkins who placed 14th (26:05), Cory McCall finished 33rd (27:16) and Ryan Crise who finished 34th (27:17).

On the women's side Holly Bright led the WCU pack finishing sixth (19:04). Melanie Cooper placed 10th with a time of 19:27. Placing 17th was Megan Thacker with 19:42. A few seconds behind Thacker was Jessie Stackhouse (19:53) finishing 19th. Rounding out the scoring for WCU was Whitney Woods who placed 23rd (20:05).

The WCU cross country team will travel to the North Carolina Intercollegiate Championships in Greenville, S.C., October 13.
