High School: Four-year letter winner at Cherokee High School in Cherokee, N.C. ... Named All-Conference in his four years at Cherokee ... Earned All-State distinction in the 1600m, 3200m and the 4x800 and Cross Country ... Won Conference Championships in the 1600m three years in a row and won three regional titles in Cross Country. Ran 4:39 in the 1600m, 10:24 in the 3200m and 2:04 in the 800m.
