Prior to Western Carolina: Broke the school record in Cross Country at Catawba College with a personal best 18:22... Was named to the all-conference first team and all-freshman team... Also collected all-region honors.

High School: Four-year letterwinner at South Rowan High School... Earned all-county and all-conference honors during her freshman campaign in cross country... Participated in the North Carolina state cross country meet as a freshman... Broke the school record in the 4x800, earning all-county and all-conference accolades in 2005... Selected to the all-region team in cross country and track... Finished her career as the school's record holder in the 4X800... Selected as the Piedmont Conferene's Runner of the Year in 2007...
