Cullowhee, N.C. - Former Western Carolina track & field standout, Manteo Mitchell, is running this Friday through Sunday, July 10-12, at the USA Track and Field National Club Championships at Icahn Stadium on Randall's Island in New York City, New York. He is running as a part of his club team.

Mitchell, who specialized in sprinting as a Catamount, is slated to compete in the men's 200 and 400-meter events on Friday evening in an attempt to qualify for Saturday's finals.

He is also supposed to run a leg of the 4x400-meter relay on Saturday evening and may also take part in the Spring Medley Relay, which includes legs of 200m-200m-400m-800m which will be run on Saturday afternoon at approximately 4:10 pm.

Mitchell is expected to compete in the following events:

Friday July 10
6:30pm - 400m - Semi-final round
8:20pm - 200m - Pre-lim round

Saturday July 11
11:10 am: 200-meter - semi-final round
12:35 pm: 400-meter - Final
2:40 pm: 200-meter - Final *
5:10 pm: 4 x 400-meter Relay

* - denotes would have to advance from previous rounds.
