Cullowhee, N.C. - Due to inclement weather and forecasts calling for heavy thunderstorms this afternoon and evening, the WCU Athletics Department has made the decision to cancel the Elementary School relays which had been scheduled to take place as a part of the 2006 Catamount Classic.

The first events are the men's hammer throw, women's javelin, women's pole vault, and the high jump competitions for both the men and women. The first track event begins at 4:00 pm with the men and women's 3,000-meter Steeplechase.

Joining athletes from Western Carolina at the Catamount Classic are members from East Tennessee State and athletes from the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC), which will use event as their 2006 Outdoor Track & Field Championship meet.
