Spartanburg, S.C. - Western Carolina's Josh Lee and Leslie Martin were selected as the Men's and Women's Track and Field Athletes of the Week for their performances the week of March 29-April 4.

A sophomore from Kannapolis, N.C., Lee finished third in the javelin at Georgia Tech's Yellow Jacket Invitational with a conference-leading throw of 195' 11". His mark tied a Western Carolina record. Since Lee is also a tight end on Western Carolina's football squad, this was his first competition of the outdoor season.

Martin, a junior from Jonesville, Va., won the 800m at Georgia Tech's Yellow Jacket Invitational. Her time of 2:08.87 is both an NCAA Regional qualifying time and the fastest in the Southern Conference this outdoor season. Martin is an Art Education major with a cumulative GPA of 3.75.
