Western Carolina University will host the 2006 Western Carolina Invitational on Friday, March 31 and Saturday, April 1st at the Catamount Athletic Complex on campus in Cullowhee, N.C.
The Catamount Athletic Complex, located on the picturesque banks of Cullowhee Creek, was completed in the spring of 2005 and hosted last season's Southern Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships, drawing record numbers for the event. WCU hosted two events during the 2005 season, with the SoCon championships marking the first full-fledged event upon the facilities completion.

On Saturday, April 1st, Western Carolina University, the Catamount Athletics Department and the Cats' W-Club would like to invite back all WCU track & field alumni for the second annual Alumni Cookout. The event will begin at Noon on the second day of the Western Carolina Invitational and will take place adjacent the Catamount Athletic Complex in Cullowhee.
